Well under Ahmandinejad's second term, the Iranian jail population has gone up 4-fold apparently. So either his abysmal policies have increased crime, or he IS indeed just the Middle East's theocratic Mosalini! And what of his Stalin pal Khamanei eh? Ashura is supposedly one of the greatest events of the Islamic calender and yet WHERE WAS HE? It was a bit like the Pope snubbing Christmas! But I'm sure that you yourself Potkin have a future post on the Ashura events in Iran, so I'll save my cutting comments and observations until then.
