We Don't Care if he Dies or Otherwise

Secular Ayatollah Boroujerdi's new team of lawyers, Giti Poorfazel, Abdolfatah Soltani and Behiyeh Jeylani who were appointed by Boroujerdi's family after they sacked Shirin Ebadi for incompetence have reported that Ayatollah Boroujerdi is in grave danger, eight days into his hunger strike at Yazd prison.

His new team of lawyers said Ayatollah Boroujerdi's family have contacted the Yazd prison officials and were told the Ayatollah still remains on hunger strike and 'frankly we don't care if he dies or otherwise'

Strongly agree with your statement. To play on a quote by General Sherman: The only good Ayatollah is a dead one.

Sorry for the confusion, that is not your statement. I have not been able to convince myself that any Shiite clergy can be good or do any good. The establishment of Shiism is sick. It is a masochistic belief system and hodgepodge of a faith. To enter a Shiite seminary and not realize this and then work to rise as an Ayatollah says a lot about an individual. There are still people around who insist Ayatollah Taleghani was a good man, I think he simply wanted to beat Khomeini to the throne, but he did not have any chance at that. Then we hear mythical stories about Sharitmadari and Tabatabaei. If Ayatollah Boroujerdi was any better than the rest of the clan he could have taken the right actions at the right time when he was able to, now the opportunity is lost for ever, he only bestowed legitimacy to the regime and made himself into an opposition Imam Hossein figure. If his supporters truly believe in this leader then they should take action.

Human Rights Activists In Iran
The condition of Ayatollah Boroujerdi is grave in seventeenth day of hunger strike.

According to a of report of a physician in Yazd central prison : the retina of Ayatollah Boroujerdi ideological prisoner has seriously damaged and now he suffers from deadly heart failure and must be quickly hospitalized in an equipped hospital. According to this report, his wounds caused by tortures have become infectious, due to the lack of necessary medical care. This liberal man suffered from many different diseases in advance of hunger strike and now he is severely weakened.

It is noticeable to mention that Ayatollah Boroujerdi's family and his lawyers' efforts to visit or have a phone call with him have had no result as yet.

In October 2006, Ayatollah Kazemeini Boroujerdi along with his family, and a number of his followers were arrested after a violent attack on his house. Armed forces used chemical and poisonous gases on the protestors who were preventing his arrest which has caused severe diseases such as blood, lung and brain cancer in many of the protesters.
His crime was advocating the separation of religion from the political basis of the state and respecting all monotheistic religions; he was so kind and respectful to religious minorities that many of his followers are from other religions.
They were then imprisoned in section 209 of Evin prison, which is said to be the most dreadful prisons in the world, where he and all his family members were extremely tortured; among the detainees, were his 80 year old mother and one year old grandchild; his mother who was chemically injured during the invasion of armed forces was tortured and as a result, died after suffering from great pain on 14 February 2007, his wife was tortured and raped in front of him and she had a heart attack, they even tortured their children in front of their parents; his house and all his possessions were confiscated by the regime; it is very important to mention that these tortures did not last a day!!! They tortured this nice family again and again.

Ayatollah Seyyed Hossein Kazemeyni Boroujerdi is an Iranian Muslim cleric who advocates the separation of religion and government. He first expressed his opposition to the Islamic government of Iran in 1994. He wrote to Pope Benedict XVI and the European Union to complain about the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of his father Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Kazemeini Boroujerdi in 2002, the subsequent confiscation of his father's mosque, and his own and his followers' harassment by Iran's theocratical government.

How do Boroujerdi's religious views differ from Ayatollah Montazeri's? Why is one in prison and the other under house arrest?

Azarmehr said...

Boroujerdi has never been part of teh revolution or the regime. He has always been opposed to political Islam.
