There are so many images and video footages from today's protests in Iran that I have to go through still, but so far this one here below vividly sums up what the Iranian people are up against.
A girl is walking away and a riot guard stops her, she is all alone against the big metal gate, defenseless and not bothering anyone, but an anti-riot guard decides to lash her across the sheens a couple of times with his truncheon. But there is worse to come, another girl is pulled over and this time she is smacked in the face with the truncheon, she is knocked out and when a young man comes to her aid, he too is pulled away and kneed in the face before more women come to their rescue. Also notice the security agent with the camera who is filming the protesters. This is what they do in public, just imagine what they do behind the prisons.
Scum of the earth and their supporters.
Death to the Mullah scum and their mercenaries.
Death to the Mullah scum and their mercenaries.
"Scum of the earth and their supporters."
To all the regime apologists: You are complicit in these crimes. You may as well have wielded the truncheons and batons. You may as well have pulled the triggers.
Sleep soundly, motherfuckers.
Oh my god, second time watching this and my blood is boiling and my body temperature is literally rising.
Not a single ounce of honor in these mindless-zombie-cocksucker Basijis.
But imagine how many people they alienate away from their filthy regime and how much anger and pain and humiliation they cause every time one of these subhuman motherfuckers acts like this.
Bunch of mother JENDEH.
yes the Baseej are the scum of the earth.
I continue to wear green as often as possible to support these brave people.
Of course you are right they will alienate many, but probably never our friend Barmakid. He will never see a revolution is happening in Iran, just like he was doubting if a coup has happened in Iran, he will shut himself in the library forever reading Flynt Leverett in front of a picture of his idol Trita Parsi
Where is SZ I wonder...he always seems to make himself scarce when video evidence is presented of how his Islamic Republic is a fascist police state...
That's very true, Arash.
Arash - he's probably back in Iran - packing his stuff to leave with the rest of the cronies. Also, he may have his internet access blocked by the dicatatorship that he loves so much. Anyway, f*ck him, the less we hear of his bullshit the better.
I'm sorry, I missed what was happening. Flynt's new book is too good to put down.
This shit isn't new - this has been happening for decades. In fact, I got taken in and beaten in the face in 2005 because I was walking alone with my female cousin and could not prove she was my cousin. And my cousin got beat too.
I got hit because I wouldn't say a word. She got hit because she wouldn't stop.
But I was able to get through it; they gave me a copy of Kasra Naji's book while I was locked up and it help me realize their is bigger bullshit in the world than this.
a 2 minute clip of some guys beating a girl is a sign that the Iranian Government is a police state?
I wonder if you supported Khatami because you liked his views. Now you say the government is a police state because Ahmadinejad won the election.
No you idiot, I am currently in Iran and nothing here is blocked. My cell phone still works, and the internet is working at my house and in the internet cafes around town. You're a scumbag and a fake Iranian. Get lost.
Presumably you took photos of your bruises when you were hit, can you please show us your pictures.
I hate Khatami, he is a criminal and an Islamofascist. Islamic Republic and all its figureheads can rot in hell. Your point, yet again, fails.
This is what they shout in Iran, and what I firmly believe in:
!استقلال، آزادی، جمهوری ایرانی
Apologies, I forgot you can't read Farsi...ask your mother for a translation :)
I'm sorry to hear about your -- unfortunately all-too-common -- experience.
But I'm surprised that you sound so resigned to it, as if it was something our people have to expect as a matter of course: "Hey, you walk around with a female relative, you should expect a beating every once in a while -- what's the big deal?"
What happened to you and your cousin, and what happens all around the country, all the time is simply not acceptable. No one should have to experience that fear and humiliation.
And that's why the green movement is so precious. That's why it shouldn't be dismissed. With all your God-given intelligence, barmakid, you can do so much to help out right here in the U.S.!
Barmakid, God Given intelligence? where? when? the boy is as thick as General Firoozabadi's underwear
True, but I'm hoping a little flattery will bring him to his senses.
oh he loves being flattered. Thats how Tritta recruited him kept telling him how brainy and beautiful he is and how impressive his book collection is :)
Yes. Let me show you how I look.
Thank you for the kind words, but I am at my senses. I support the movement, I always have - even before it started. There is nothing I can do from Texas - we have our own political problems here (we just had an election).
I must have missed the memo, when did you become a comedian?
hahahahahahahaha......you hated Khatami, but you support Mousavi and Karroubi??
You claim to hate the Iranian government and all of the participants in the system, yet you support the opposition candidate?
Is it possible you're a two time SOB who just wants the Shah to return and sit on the peacock throne?
And who ever said I could not read farsi? You're good at starting rumors, off course, im not surprised at your idiotic and ignorant posts, everyone of you people in the "green" movement is like that!
SZ - when you're ready - let me know I've got some people more than willing to help you with your removals.
And by the way - why don't you try and get access to the internet on a protest day rather than wait a few days after you fucking idiot. We all know why you can't you jAkesh.
Tell me - are these still the rich kids from North Tehran who are pulling down Khamenei's posters? Are they still the minority in cities across Iran who protested on ghods and 13 aban? For fuck's sake don't be such a blind asshole - open your eyes and accept the fact your regime IS NOT WANTED!
You're the traitor to the people of Iran and the fake.
SZ can you read the text below?
"Boro gomsho, jaakesh..."
I hate Mousavi too. I do not support the Green Movement's leaders, yet AGAIN you fail. What does it feel like to be a perpetual failure? :)
As for the Shah: I was right about you not being able to read Farsi, if you could you would have realised that I wrote "Independence, Freedom, Iranian Republic"...would a monarchist be supporting a republic, genius?
you can write whatever you want, but the fact is that you either want Iran to be a puppet democracry for the west, or a peacock monarchy for the west.
The way Iran is now, which is independent and not obedient to anyone, is the way Iran will always be.
How does it feel to be in a perpetual minority?
Iran will never be what you imagine it to be.
very mature of you to throw insults when you can't argue the issues.
Go suck a dick
How is Iran not obedient to anyone now? Why do you think there are so many chants against Russia? The Russians can kill as many Muslims as they please and the Islamic Republic will not utter a dicky bird.
Even if it was like you say, so what? Is that an excuse to mistreat its citizens? Hitler's Germany was independent and not obedient to anyone, so what? Did that mean that it was good?? OH I forgot you are a supporter of AHmadienjad and Mohammad ALi Ramin with Nazi connections..
You may have put two and two together and inferred that I insulted you, but I remain convinced that you can't read Farsi.
Agar Irani budi, az in nezame zede-Irani poshtibani nemikardi.
What is your obsession with with comparing Iran to Nazi Germany? Not only is that factually incorrect but it shows your idiotic way of thinking.
and Iran can have ALLIES and still not be a surrogate state. Surrogate states are countries like Saudi Arabia..who really is a dictator ship, and still has the support of western countries because of its oil. I can't believe you don't see the hypocrisy of the west!
And for the last fucking time, my name is not Shervin. I already said my first name is Sasan. There are other names that start with an S and other last names that start with a Z you idiot!
I do live in Iran, and I do support my government and I am Iranian. If you were really Iranian, you would stop advocating the overthrow of a government who has the support of the MAJORITY of Iranians. You act as if everyone in Iran hates the government and that nobody supports it. In fact, its the opposite, the demonstrations are increasingly being marginalized, and increasingly shown to be young rich or upper middle class kids.
I am willing to bet you don't live in Iran. People like you are a dime a dozen...talk shit from a distance but when push comes to shove...you are a pussy.
boro gomsho ahmag!
"very mature of you to throw insults when you can't argue the issues."
What issues? Have you brought up any issues to discuss?
"The way Iran is now, which is independent and not obedient to anyone, is the way Iran will always be."
I understand the sentiment. Iran has gained a new role in the region, and yes, we can thank the mullahs for that. They have brought much power to the Iranian state. But do you really believe that's an excuse to divest Iranian citizens of their power, or I should say, dignity?
Even the Zionist don't do what the IRI is doing to it's own citizens (non-Palestinian, that is). They have brought Israel great power, but through that power they have made life more comfortable for their citizens. Why hasn't the IRI done so?
Ahmadinejad likes to say that the people in Israel (the Zionists) are not Jews, they have no religion, he says. Jews wouldn't do this, after all, "thou shall not kill" is a commandment.
Well, I say the same to the governing clerics. You are not Muslim, you have no religion.
It's very embarrassing to me when one of the most criminal nations in the world (Israel) can offer there citizens a better standard of living than the IRI can offer my family and my fellow citizens.
That's not embarrassing to you SZ? They don't even have oil or any significant resources, they have gone through numerous wars, and yet the citizens of Israel have a higher employment rate, higher GDP, a stronger military, and the freedom to travel the world.
What can an Iranian citizen do? Travel to Shomal? Pay the highest prices in the world for onions? Not be able to wear what they please, watch what they please, and be who they please?
This is not Islam. This is not right. This is criminal.
Your Israel bashing aside, THANK YOU BARMAKID!
Here we go again, one more try...
"Even the Zionist don't do what the IRI is doing to it's own citizens (non-Palestinian, that is). They have brought Israel great power, but through that power they have made life more comfortable for their citizens. Why hasn't the IRI done so?"
Considering Iran was involved in a bloody 8 year war in which it was invaded and the invading country had the support of all western nations, I would say Iran has done pretty well since the Islamic Revolution.
Also, you conveniently forget to mention that Iran has been under sanctions since the Islamic Revolution, while Israel has not only enjoyed GRANTS from the United States, but they have also enjoyed a multitude of benefits not granted to Iran. Its easy to win wars when the most powerful nation on earth supports you in them.
Your comparison between Zionists and the Iranian Clerics is idiotic. Zionism is just a belief system, its not a religion, in that you are correct. Khomeini was a religious figure who sought to gain political power. There is a huge difference between the two. You don't want to believe the Iranian Clerics have religion, fine, go ahead, it doesn't make it true.
"It's very embarrassing to me when one of the most criminal nations in the world (Israel) can offer there citizens a better standard of living than the IRI can offer my family and my fellow citizens."
Again, one the most criminal nations on earth has the support of the most powerful nation on earth and the europeans. Do you really think if Israel had been under sanctions for 35 years like Iran has been, that they would still be better off than Iran? The United States practically supports a large part of the Israeli economy because of the money it gives them, and because of the products it buys, and economic interaction between the two countries.
Iran has nothing to be ashamed of. Iran has been under sanctions since the revolution, and they have done remarkably well all things considered. Iran is under constant threat of invasion and bombing. Israel on the other hand, has received more aid and help than some US states. So sure they can provide a better life to their people, it pays to be a vassal state, if you don't mind living on your knees.
"That's not embarrassing to you SZ?"
No, you cannot compare Iran and Israel when one has the support of the west and the United States in every way imaginable, and the other is and has been under sanctions for 35 years and under constant threat of war. I mean hell, we want nuclear power and even that they don't want us to have. So we have nothing to be embarrassed about.
"This is not Islam. This is not right. This is criminal."
No, what is criminal is the constant sanctions my country is under just for disagreeing with the west. What is criminal is the US giving Israel money, economic aid, military technology in order to keep the Palestinians and Iranians down on their knees. What is criminal is Iran being under threat of attack each and everyday just for wanting nuclear reactors. What is criminal is the US vetoing over 50 resolutions the past 35 years against Israel in the UN. There are many things that are criminal, but not a single one of them applies to Iran.
Hypocrisy is something the reformists and western nations are very good at.
I see you have no comment on my being able to read and speak and write farsi! hahaha..fucking fag.
You used the same phrase I did, you douche nozzle.
Hahaha, instead of admitting you're a panzy and just
Conceding that I can speak and read and write Farsi,
You choose to still deny an obvious mistake on your
Well either way, here goes again.
Boro gomsho, kesafat, ahmag, bishoor, bihamekas,
Koshkesh, to madaret fashehe boodeh.
You're a typical dissident abroad, thinking you know
More about Iran than an actual iranian who has lived here
His whole life. Get lost fag bag, better luck next time.
Let me first say I don't disagree with you about the UN's actions (regarding resolutions against Israeli actions) and that, yes, it should be taken into consideration that Iran has been sanctioned and Israel gets significant material support from the US. But this shouldn't be drawn out of proportion.
It's been 30 years since the revolution and nearly 20 years since the war with Iraq.
Now consider the amount the US gives Israel over the course of 3 years (9-10 billion dollars). Israel's entire GDP is $201.4 billion. Iran's GDP is more than four times that amount ($841.7 billion). The 9-10 billion dollars starts to look more like a drop in the bucket.
Now, what I think matters more because it's the individual lives of Iranians that make up the collective life of the nation, is the GDP per capita. Even though Iran's GDP is 4 times greater than Israel's, Israel's GDP per capita is more than twice the amount of Iran's GDP per capita (Iran=$12,00 Israel 28,000).
Iran also has a shortage of skilled labor.
Sanctions have an impact, but if the impact is so much that it has crippled the Iranian economy for the past 30 years then we should be blaming the IRI. How can you let sanctions be imposed on our people for 30 years now! Wy haven't you done something!?
But in reality, the current sanctions are not that significant (besides the fact that most of them are unilaterally imposed by the US). Iran's economy has continuously grown and will even grow by 3% this year (after growing 7% last year) even though there is a world economic decline!
Israel has been through more wars and insurrection than Iran, even though the Iraq war was particularly gruesome and intense. But even though, 30 years later Iran's unemployment rate is at a staggering 12% while Israel's unemployment rate rests at a comfortable 6%.
Furthermore, Israel boasts a 4.1% inflation rate while Iran struggles with a 25.6% inflation rate (this single fact makes the lives of average Iranians very difficult when you couple it with a 12,000 GDP per capita).
So, in conclusion, while I understand your ire toward US support for a nation like Israel, this support must not be drawn out of proportion. Even with billions of dollars of aid, that aid does not even come close to reaching Iran's wealth (financially and underground resources).
p.s. "Your comparison between Zionists and the Iranian Clerics is idiotic. Zionism is just a belief system, its not a religion, in that you are correct. Khomeini was a religious figure who sought to gain political power."
Religion IS a belief system. And Zionism is an extremist extension of Judaism. Just like Khomeini did via his religion (Shiism), Theodor Herzl sought political power for his people via Judaism's adoption of Zionism as a guiding doctrine.
Shiism and Zionism were originally both political movements that have gradually involved into religions in and of themselves.
Go fuck yourself, you little cyberbasiji.
p.s. cussing in persian does not mean you speak/read/write persian. not that i give a shit if you do or not, i'm just saying.
I know how to speak, read and write farsi! I was born in Tehran and have lived here 85% of my life. I went to school here!
seriously, sohrab gets called out, and he responds with "cyberbasiji"...hahahahahahaha...fucking loser.
and barmakid, you have this obsession with thinking you are winning a debate. dude, you lost. you lost a long time ago.
