I've heard relatives say that people will show up, take the food, and then adios -- they take off! :)

Yeah - definitely state sponsored rally's. I notice these 'dark mullah' supporters. Half-hearted - limp and almost dead-eyed. Like paid off puppets - bribed zombies or basiji forced robots. And then there are those who just don't care what they do as long as they get a few hand-outs and probably a day off work to wave a flag thrust in their hands. Oh I'm sure Khamanei has his friends. But sadly for him, most of them now reside in hell!

Potkin, your misreporting knows no limits! The Mousavi supporters have handed out food and other stuff at their rallies - people were protesting for many hours today - they need refreshments.

Of course, someone who has never been to Iran since 1981 is entirely clueless.

TODAY MILLIONS OF IRANIANS THROUGHOUT THE NATION CONDEMNED THE DESECRATION OF ASHURA BY MOUSAVI'S GREEN THUGS.

By the way, by all accounts (including 1st hand ones from Iran) -- this thing fizzled badly.

P.s. Let's not call them the Iranian government any longer. They are the 'Dark Mullahs!' I just say "If you do Good for Good's sake, then how can God be angry?" Therefore Satan must be really pleased with Khamanei. Cheat, lie, torture, rape, murder, suppress, blackmail - the list just goes on and on to serve his sadistic power hungry pride. What a great legasy eh? FEAR! I'm not religious but I am spiritual. And those who hide behind religion to be a monster must surely be the lowest of the low in any enlightened spirit?

You see, reading about the islamic republic and how it is run, it looks very much like one of the forms of government proposed by Plato in the Republic, with a theological jurist king instead of a philosopher king...

The Iranians are fighting to be politically free from the dead hand of Plato, just like Galileo was fighting to have science free from the dead hand of Aristotle.
Small wander that the powers of the day declare(d) both as enemies of religion. History was kinder to Galilei and it will also give the Greens their rightful place.

As for today's governmental rallies, they are Ceausescu rallies, hopefully the government leaders will end up as Ceausescu did...

As for Khamenei &comp, they are "proper" thugs: Thugs were killing people for the greater glory of goddess Kali, while Khamenei&comp claim to kill and rape for the greater glory of Allah, if I understand it right. They are, in a way worse than Torquemada: that was putting people on fire to "save" their souls, while raping before executions is made to be sure that both body and soul are to be damned. I have to recognize that the Romanian Securitate never thought of that. They were raping without theological arguments.

Sohrab and Rostam:

Green is the color of the Arabs and the American $$$.

I think that says enough about your "patriotism".

Even if your beloved Mousavi was President - God forbid - the Islamic Republic would still be in place.

Reza,

Why didn't the regime herd all the cattle into Azedi square? Oh that's right, there wasn't enough people. Instead, put them into a smaller space to create the appearance of large crowds with trick shots and close ups.
