Mathew Richardson, Press TV legal Advisor, Iran Protests were Irresponsible
How much is this guy being paid for being a dictator's lackey?
"Young democracy", no Iran was a young democracy in 1953 when Dr Mossadeq was overthrown. Iran is currently a beleaguered theocracy. How does this guy sleep at night knowing that he broadcasts lies and propaganda to the UK public?
U2 goes Green. Via reader Jashar, U2 performed last night in Barcelona and played their hit "Sunday Bloody Sunday" -- about British troops who shot and killed civil rights marchers in Ireland -- as green light covered the stage and Farsi lyrics ran across the screens.
A commenter on U2's website described the scene:
First up, the previous song outros with a beautiful lilting vocal piece by (we discover) Iranian-born singer Sussan Deyhim. Then as the rhythmic opening bars of 'Sunday' arrive, the overhead spherical screens turn a luminous shade of green as farsi script script scrolls into sight. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/03/iran-uprising-blogging-fr_n_225333.html
he is right ... Iranians should have called for the overthrow of the whole system from beginning... what a waste of effort to think that mousavi is any answer to their problems....!
imagine being matthew richardson. poor bastard. going to bed, trying to keep out the screams of innocent people clubbed and gunned to death in iran. beaten up, tortured and raped in prison. bodies carried off in trucks on the street and from hopitals without their families knowing. i'd be praying hard to that nasty god of yours, you'll need all the salvation you can get. is it 72 virgins you get in heaven? ;) enjoy.
First of all I am impressed of the courage and patience of Mathew Richardson who has held up to such criticism and character assasination by the mercenaries. So I salute your couage and patience. I have studied all the comments, and think that the majority of these have been left by the Iranian opposed to thier government. I have no great experiece of life and politics of Iran, but one factor compell me to think about the country. After studying the Iranian history I came to the conclusion that is a greatest civilization in the world not like of those countries made by those people who after commiting grave crimes in thier countries would be transported westward to enable them to start new life. So hardly some countries are just few centuries old. One can gauge the fact of the greatness of the Iranian nation is that although they could not withstand the militrary power of the newly united Arab and were militarily subjugated but thier culture was never Arabized and never lost their distinct Persian identity. The county may be considered as a pariah or champion of the poor depending on who see the country how. In my view one thing is sure, this middle eastern country has withstood internatioanl isolation for no less than thirty years. I am not some great defender of the type of governemnt there, but the way the held up to Iraq which was supported by nearly all the countries in the region and west, yet Iran did not conceded defeat tells us of the greatness of this nation. Those people writing of the ills in that country and belongs to that should think what they are doing. This country is a great country and not working like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Eygept and Pakistan helping others in killing their fellow co religionist just to pocket money for thier own. Mathew Richardson also seems to be very patient who endures such comments as posted on the website directly targeting his character. He has a great moral courage to allow such things. By watching the Press TV I come to the conclusion that it is not just covering the one side story story of news as is evident in the coverage of other outlets. Well don Mathew Richardson and I pray for the success of you and all of your fellows Yvoone Ridley, George Galloway, Lauren Booth, Hasan Ghani, Roshan Muhammad Saleh, Afshin Ratansi and all other and keep carry on the good work.

See today's article by Dominic Lawson in the Sunday Times, entitled 'Iran's British stooges are staring right at you'.
